September 28, 2007 Update

Two of the three scheduled public workshops were held (see July update below). Attendance was very strong and the consultants received a tremendous amount of valuable feedback. At the Sept. 19 meeting, three design alternatives were presented. Following the discussions and comments, these plans were revised and reduced to two design alternatives, which were presented and discussed at the Sept. 20 meeting.

Our next step will be to get to a single draft preferred design at our upcoming meeting from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 4 in the Parasol Room at the Morton Civic Center, 2100 Ridge Ave., Evanston. To review the presentations and drawings produced for the two previous workshops, please see the links below. To submit comments, please see the contact information at the bottom of this page.

Public Invited to Comment on Design Alternatives for Lakefront Master Plan

A three-session public workshop has been scheduled for late September/early October to obtain residents’ ideas and comments on design alternatives for the Evanston lakefront. The design alternatives are being developed as the next step in the implementation of the Evanston Lakefront Master Plan.

At the first public session, Wednesday, Sept. 19, residents will be able to review and comment on several initial design alternatives. Based on the public input received that night, some of those alternatives will be eliminated and others will be revised. The refined design alternatives will then be presented to the public on the following night, Thursday, Sept. 20. Once again residents will be able to share their ideas on these revised alternatives. Based on those comments, a draft preferred design will be presented to the public on Thursday, Oct. 4.

All three sessions begin at 7 p.m. in the Parasol Room of the Evanston Morton Civic Center, 2100 Ridge Ave. Since the three sessions build on each other, the public is invited to attend as many of the sessions as possible. For more information, call 847.866.2914.
