Groups and organizations that wish to hold special events in the City of Evanston will need to obtain a Special Event Permit and Policy Instructions packet. A non-refundable $100 “Application Fee” must be submitted along with the initial Event Permit Application for all non-City sponsored events.
Your event is subject to final approval of the City’s Special Events Committee and, in some cases, the City Council.
Disclaimer: Many City of Evanston events, as well as public and private events held by other organizations and individuals, must meet the minimum special event criteria, requiring them to go through the City’s special event process. The Evanston City Council must approve special events annually to grant the use and allocation of City resources, such as personnel, services, and public property.
