Labor Day in Evanston

Posted by Wally Bobkiewicz on Sep 4, 2009 at 7:00 AM in General Announcements

City offices will be closed Monday for the Labor Day holiday.  Trash pickups will be delayed one day next week.

Northwestern begins their home football schedule Saturday at 11 AM against Towson University from Maryland.  If you are looking for the most interesting Evanston event of the weekend, look no further than the 73rd Annual Evanston Cowboy Days.   Of course, you will need to get to Evanston, Wyoming.......

Dang, I was all ready to shine up my cowboy boots and pull the lasso out of the closet. But I also wondered how I'd never heard of this event, since it's been going on for 73 years....I didn't read the fine print about this being held in Evanston, WYOMING until after I'd read about the parade and the rodeo, and gotten my hopes up.

Git along, little doggies.
