Walk Against Violence
At last night's Council meeting, Alderman Jean-Baptiste asked that we publicize a walk against violence being held at ETHS on Friday.

Wally - you have not been here very long - over the years there are always these big community events against violence. They are all show. Bottomline the council has no interest in effectively dealing with the crime problem here. ( similar to the budget?)
A few years back they held a big even over at the High School about crime, a few hours prior to the meeting some one was gunned down on a street not to far from the high school. Interestingly not one public official at the meeting wanted to discuss the event.
Also during the so called break out groups the police officers who were there and dressed in plain clothes did not participate, but were observers. I asked one why they had no opinion he would not share any information. ( It appear to me they were told to be quiet)
Council members have no interest in wanting to deal with the real issue that is we have too many criminals in town. That would not be too political correct. At the meeting on violence the key note speaker father Faler from Chicago, summed it up best when he state you go after the criminal element and run them out of town.Clearly not one public official ( council members ) wanted to hear that. One official who I asked about this clearly did not want to discuss the issue.
Wally the council wants to waste your time and staffs time on peddler ordinances and other non efective policies that have no real impact on public safety.
