New Downtown Zoning Website

Posted by Wally Bobkiewicz on Nov 24, 2009 at 7:51 PM in Community Development

From our Community Development Department:

A new web page has been introduced to support the zoning implementation of the Downtown Plan Update (adopted by Council February 2009).  Anticipated to run through Spring 2010, the effort  will put the updated Downtown Plan into action in the form of eight new zoning districts and will encompass all of downtown Evanston.

You can access the page here    or from the Zoning page of the City of Evanston web site

The web page will

  • provide general information about the effort (schedule, scope, process, etc.)

  • as well as current news, upcoming public meetings, contacts, etc.

It will also

  • be a resource for document distribution (including the plan document itself),

  • maps, and other working materials.

In the works are

  • links for property owners to quickly be able to know if they are affected by the proposed changes (and if so – how), and

  • a project-specific self-subscribe email listserve to sign up for regular news and information about the effort.

These features should be up and running soon.

We hope you visit the new website and don’t hesitate to send any comments or ideas for improvement.
