Walker Appointed Community Development Director

Lehman Walker has been appointed the City's new Director of Community Development.  Walker currently holds same position in University City, Missouri.  See press release for more information.

Wow! I'm originally from Chicago (north side) and now live in University City where we enjoyed having Lehman in our City Hall. Evanston is most fortunate to get this talented, responsive, bright man -- and it our loss for certain. Good luck to you Lehman.....we talked about your departure at our monthly meeting of the WIN (Women in the Neighborhood) this morning and all decided that we miss you already! You were a great asset.

I have know Mr. Walker for over 20 years, as he was our planning manager in Surrey, BC, Canada. He is one of the brightest, honest and visionary public officials I have ever met. He was always fair to all types of developers and tried his very best to make the planning department more inclusive during his tenure.
