I understand that recycling usage will be metered this year. That is the more you use, the more you will be charged. Is this true? How will this be measured?

We will not be measuring the recycling at this point. The City Council has asked us to look at this over the next several months and report back.

Charing anyone more for recycling more couldn't be any more counter productive. It should be the other way around. I could understand to be charged more for more non recyclable trash in order to motivate me to by less trash and to recycle more.

I would hope that the idea, if it exists, of charging a fee for recycling is abandoned. This will only discourage recycling and we now recycle at least 80% of the refuse that we used to put in the landfill.
