Two sections of particular interest are the budget transmittal letter and executive summary.  The Council's first budget hearing is Saturday January 9.

In reviewing the budget documents, I note that the .06 LT Care Ombudsman position appears to have been retained rather than deleted. If I am reading this correctly, I commend this decision. In a community where there is a growing aging population, many of whom reside in retirement and long term care facilities, the LT Care Ombudsman position is an essential asset that serves an important safety role. I am sorry to see all the other Human Services activities will disappear as City budgetedresponsibilities; or will they show up funded from a non-General Fund resource?

Senior services that have been previously done in Health and Human Services are moving to Parks, Recreation and Community Services.
