Snow Route Parking Ban January 7, 2010
Snow Route Parking Ban in Effect 1/7/10
The City of Evanston has declared a Snow Route Parking Ban for tonight, Thursday, January 7, 2010. Community members are requested to park according to the red, white and blue signs on their streets to allow the City to effectively clear the snow. Emergency sirens will sound to alert community members to move their cars at 8:15 p.m. on nights snow route parking bans are in effect after an accumulation of two inches of snow.
During the Snow Route Parking Ban tonight, main thoroughfares in Evanston designated as Snow Routes will be cleared first, and parking is illegal on these streets between 11 p.m. January 7 and 6 a.m. January 8, 2010.
Even if plows have been through, snow removal operations may require return visits by City trucks. The fine for violating the Snow Route Parking ban is $50 plus towing and storage charges.
When community members move their cars to nearby side streets, they are reminded to follow the snow clearing regulations for that side street.
Inquiries about snow removal should be directed to Streets and Sanitation, (847) 866-2940, or publicworks@cityofevanston.org.

You are correct - The snow parking ban does not put into effect the snow emergency - - These are two separate things and they would both be posted on the website if both were in effect.
Right now only the Snow Route Parking Ban is in effect which prohibits parking on the designated main throughfares. Since you live on a side street (Judson) - There are no restrictions on your parking at this time.
If there were a Snow Emergency declared for side streets - you are also correct in that you would park on the even side of the street if it were an odd date (as in the 7th). The restriction reads: No parking between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. on the odd numbered side of the street on odd # days
Hope that helps - More information is available here

Hello - I am new to Evanston and am really confused by the Snow Emergency regulations (I understand the snow parking ban). I live on a side street (Judson Ave.) that has a sign that says "even days". Does this mean that on even days I must park on the "odd side" of the street, or that I should park on the "even side" on the street?? If there were a Snow Emergency today, the 7th, for example, am I okay on the "even side" of the street or the "odd side" of the street?
Also, a snow parking ban does not also put into effect the Snow Emergency even/odd parking, does it? These two are separate and if they are both in effect, then both should be posted on the website?
Any clarification would be helpful! The phone line says there are no parking regulations in effect...
