Sustainability Coordinator Heads Back Home
Carolyn Collopy, the City's Sustainability Coordinator, is leaving the City Friday after three years in the position. Carolyn and her family are moving to the Minneapolis area to be closer to her extended family and will be taking a similar position with Hennepin County, Minnesota.
Carolyn was the first position to hold the position of Sustainability Coordinator in Evanston. During her time with the City she helped create the City’s Climate Action Plan and has brought hundreds of thousands of dollars in grant funding to Evanston to further the goals of the plan. See the City's Sustainability website for more details of Carolyn's good work.
Carolyn has done outstanding work here and has brought of hundreds of thousands of dollars of grant money to Evanston to move forward the the Climate Action Plan. She worked very closely with many community partners, most notably Citizens for a Greener Evanston.
We will be recruiting to fill the position shortly, but will never be able to replace Carolyn. Best wishes to her and her family as they make their way back to Minnesota.

Continue good work that Carolyn started in bringing in resources to implement the Climate Action Plan as well as re-energize staff throughout the organization to incorporate sustainability practices across the City government.
