FY 2011 Proposed Budget Released

Posted by Wally Bobkiewicz on Oct 8, 2010 at 6:59 PM in Administrative Services

The proposed budget is now posted on the City website (PDF).

I recommend reading the budget transmittal letter and budget reduction worksheet that begin on page one of the document for details of the budget.

The budget contains a $3,093,288 General Fund deficit, with proposed revenue enhancements and spending reductions to balance. No proposed property tax increase for general fund operating budget. I have proposed eliminating 21.65 FTE positions, 10 currently vacant. Twelve employees would be impacted.

There is also an additional $794,667 of additional reductions and revenue enhancements that is available to the City Council to use balance the budget in addition to the other cuts. If the City Council chooses not to use these additional cuts, then they will not be cut.

The City Council will hold a budget workshop on Saturday morning October 23 and the formal hearing and public comment on the budget will begin at a special City Council meeting on Saturday morning November 6. The City Council is scheduled to approve the budget on Monday November 22.
