Newsy Items on Monday City Council Agenda

Busy, varied meeting scheduled for Monday night.  First, there is no Planning and Development Committee meeting for first time in a long while.  The City Council meeting will start at conclusion of Administration and Public Works Committee, but no earlier than 7:15 PM.

Mayor Tisdahl will be honoring NU Professor Dale Mortensen with the Key to the City in honor of his winning the 2010 Nobel Prize in Economics.  This will occur at 8:00 PM and will be accompanied by short recess for a reception in his honor.

Other items:

1.  Introduction of Erie Family Health Center as the City's partner in developing a Federally Qualified Health Center in Evanston.

2.  Status report on the City's Intergovernmental Relations work, including a report from the City's Washington lobbyists Holland and Knight.

3.  Status report on work of City's new Development Officer Devon Woodard.  Devon's job is to raise non-tax revenue for the City.

4.  Status report on the City's affordable housing initiatives.

5.  Overview presentation on Proposed FY 2011 Capital Improvement Program.  Details can be found here (PDF).

6.  Approval of agreement with Northwestern University for installation of Sheridan Road Traffic Signal south of Garrett Place.  Staff report (PDF).

7.  Introduction of ordinances to adjust Motor Fuel Tax, Electric Utility Tax and Right of Way permit fees.

8.  Consideration of ordinance creating Community Accountability Truancy Program (PDF).

9.  Consideration of amending code limiting number of chicken coops to 20 citywide (PDF).
