Special City Council Meeting Monday / 311 and Mass Notification

Posted by Wally Bobkiewicz on Jan 30, 2011 at 10:25 AM in Administrative Services, General Announcements

The City Council will be meeting Monday at 7 PM to discuss and approve two new policies to help us roll out two new City services.

First, the City Council will get an update on our launch of 311 on March 1 (3-1-11).  In addition the Council will be asked to approve service level agreements for the operation of 311.  These service level agreements will be the City's contract with the community on the time frame the City responds to service requests.  The City will report regularly on our actual performance against these service level agreements.  More info on all this here (PDF).

The second item on the agenda is the roll out of the City's new mass notification service on Tuesday February 1.  This service will allow the City to call all home telephones in the City with emergency information citywide and also critical City information in any smaller area of the City that maybe needed.  In addition, residents may register themselves with the system to receive notification on a variety of other issues and to receive notification at work, via email, cell phone or anywhere else they like.  The City Council will review a policy on how staff proposes to use this system (PDF)
