Dear Evanston,

Thank you for making my decision on where I should shop from now on as it will NOT be within this city. I may live here but I will take the few extra minutes to drive to a store that is allowed to use disposable bags. I use these disposable bags for trash bags for my small trash cans, when I am cleaning out the litter box, and in other ways where a non-disposable bag would not be useful. I will not spend my money buying bags to use for these things especially when going to a non-Evanston store is not out of my way so I am not wasting my time or money going elsewhere. By the way, I also use these bags for picking up other people's trash that they have chosen to not dispose of properly and if I don't have a disposable bag to do this with I am not going to do it anymore because I am not going to spend my money just because other people were sloppy. I am sure that the stores in Skokie and Wilmette will be very happy to have my business.

I'm seriously hoping Ms. Weber will be able to extend her trash pickup to Oakton Street where we have an ABUNDANCE of plastic bags blowing into our yards and trees. Tax or get rid of the bags - either decision will result in people treating them like precious commodities and they'll be less likely to end up in my yard. Incidentally, I've been carrying bags into stores for over a year now and find the reusable bags much more convenient and even comfortable to carry than those in-store disposable bags. Let's put away the laziness and make an effort at being better people for our children (of which I have none, but I'm still taking care of the future for your kids).
