Power Outage Update - 5:00 PM Thursday June 23, 2011

Posted by Wally Bobkiewicz on Jun 23, 2011 at 5:47 PM in General Announcements

Evanston Utility Department staff spoke with ComEd representatives late this afternoon. There are still over 2,100 customers in Evanston without power. The biggest concentration is in southeast Evanston. The number of customers there are larger than previously reported. Many customers have had power restored in north Evanston, but pockets of outages remain throughout the City. ComEd still believes that all customers will have power restored by end of day Friday.

Evanston Police and Fire Departments will continue extended patrols in outage areas this evening.

Northwestern Evanston is dark and no sign of ComEd doing anything to remove and repair giant downed tree and numerous powerlines at Colfax and Lawndale. This update has not even hit my inbox. Had to search facebook for it. Have nothing good to say about ComEd and not much positive about City advocacy for those without power either. I have had to store insulin at a neighbor's for 3 days now. A disgrace.
