The mission of the Economic Development Division is to redevelop distressed property, revitalize neighborhoods, provide job opportunities, generate sustainable tax revenue, and bring amenities to neighborhoods in the City through local investment.

The Economic Development staff is busy gathering information for all local businesses.  Check out the new Local Business Directory below for contact information for Evanston-based business and be sure to check back regularly as the list is updated and improved.

In an effort to provide the most accurate and up-to-date information, we are updating the Local Business Directory regularly.  If you would like to report any corrections, additions, or edits, please email the Economic Development Division, be sure to include the Business Name, Category, Address, Phone Number and Website.

 

Newsletters

The Economic Development Newsletter highlights new businesses, noteworthy events, and provides information on important opportunities that are available to help sustain and/or grow business in Evanston. The first Economic Development Division Newsletter was published in February 2012, which sequent editions following monthly.

Economic Development Committee

The Economic Development Committee seeks to attract new real estate development, companies, and businesses to Evanston’s downtown, industrial, and business districts. Meetings of the Economic Development Committee are held on the fourth* Wednesday of every month at 7:30 pm. (*NOTE: The meeting dates may be altered due to holidays; please consult the official City Calendar to confirm meeting dates/times.) Items submitted for consideration by the Economic Development Committee should be filed with the Economic Development Division Staff no later than two weeks prior to the meeting date.
