Facilities Management
Facilities Management is a business discipline that coordinates the physical aspects (e.g., buildings, furniture, equipment) of the workplace with the people and work process of an organization.
This department maintains 45 City owned facilities and provides thousands of hours of maintenance to keep them environmentally compatible
and structurally sound
for use by the public and city personnel. The 14 tradesmen regularly perform over 3,000 scheduled or unscheduled work orders per year.
We support all City departments in their delivery of services and programs to the benefit of our citizens on a daily basis. Projects performed by outside contractors require in-house staff to provide support; drafting of specifications, pre-bid tours, pre-construction meetings, job oversight and construction meetings, coordination and similarly related activities.
Facilities Management also manages the City's mail, capital projects, emergency management and cable systems.
