The Evanston Playground and Recreation Board presented a report to the Human Services Committee on Mon., Oct. 20, 2008 about Evanston's recreational needs as it pertains to Robert Crown Center (see PDF file below of the presentation).
Please note that the Human Services Committee accepted the recommendation that the Board and City staff pursue the opportunity of a shared indoor facility with School District #202. However, instead of setting aside funds in the capital improvement plan (CIP) at this time , the Committee suggested that the Board return in 60 days with an update on potential costs of various options.

Youth Hockey News
Evanston Youth Hockey Association (EYHA) is a member of the NHL Diversity family. EYHA has been a leader in the area of diversity since the 1960s, and it is an honor for the National Hockey League to grant them NHL Diversity affiliate status.
Founded in 1995, NHL Diversity provides support and unique programming to not-for-profit youth hockey organizations across North America that are committed to offering economically disadvantaged boys and girls of all ages opportunities to play hockey.
Chicago Blackhawk Charities provides a grant to the Amateur Hockey Association of Illinois (AHAI). A portion of the grant is used to support the AHAI Diversity Task Force, which provides equipment, ice time and instruction complimentary to underprivileged youth from the Chicagoland area. With the existence of both the AHAI Diversity Program and EYHA Diversity Program, opportunities to play hockey will be expanded to even more children in the area.
