Black History Month
The art exhibition, "A Call to Action: An Artistic Dialogue Among Ten Artists," is presented by Fleetwood-Jourdain Community Center and the City of Evanston's Cultural Arts Division.
The exhibition opens with an artists reception on Sunday, January 24 from 3:00-5:00 p.m. at the Noyes Cultural Arts Center, 927 Noyes Street. The reception features live music, refreshments and a silent auction. The exhibition is presented in recognition of Black History Month. Admission is free.
The exhibition was curated by Carolyn Elaine, whose artwork is shown at left.
Fleetwood-Jourdain Community Center is the oldest community center in Evanston, opening in 1956. Fleetwood-Jourdain Community Center provides many services to the community. The center provides seniors with meals during the day, has indoor facilities to accommodate activities such as karate, and an outdoor playground. Middle School Council
New members are invited to join the combined Middle School Council of Fleetwood-Jourdain Center and Mason Park Fieldhouse. The Council meets every Monday and Wednesday at 5:15 p.m. at Fleetwood-Jourdain Center.
