Many City of Evanston events, as well as public and private events held by other organizations and individuals, must meet the minimum special event criteria, requiring them to go through the City’s special event process. The Evanston City Council must approve special events annually to grant the use and allocation of City resources, such as personnel, services, and public property. These public events were approved by City Council.
