Sustain Evanston Logo.jpgThe City of Evanston invites community environmental leaders and activists to a "Sustain Evanston - Meet & Greet" on Saturday, April 28, 2012 from 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. organized by the Environment Board, Office of Sustainability and the Utilities Commission. Coffee, tea, juice and snacks will be served. The event will be held at the Northwestern University John Evans Alumni Center located at 1800 Sheridan Road (at Clark St.).

The city recently compiled a list of all organizations operating in Evanston that are involved with the environment, sustainability, energy conservation and climate change and staff was surprised and pleased at how many entities there are operating here. The purpose of this meeting is to informally bring people together who are working in these areas to get to know each other and open a dialog that can help us all foster more coordination, communication and cooperation for our mutual goals.

We ask that you please plan to send one or two of your officers or representatives to this event. It would be very helpful if you can share the three top priorities of your organization with us in advance of this event. We are preparing a survey that will be sent to you (or your designee/s) soon. There will be a brief address around 11:00 AM.

Please feel free to contact us or send us your thoughts, ideas, suggestions and priorities (in advance) by e-mailing sustainability@cityofevanston.org or calling 847/448-8069.
