Sherman Plaza Public Art

The five finalists were chosen from a total of 155 submissions from artists in 33 states and 11 countries or territories by a Public Art review panel, which includes representatives from the Public Art Committee, local artists, architects, business owners, and government officials.
The City of Evanston’s Percent for Art ordinance designates up to one percent of the cost of new municipal construction projects for the acquisition of public art. The construction of the Sherman Plaza Self Park provides the opportunity to select a major work of art that will be installed on Sherman Plaza at the corner of Sherman Avenue and Davis Street in downtown Evanston.
