Deck the City's snow plows! 
The grey and dreary winters are much more colorful with snow plows decked out with unique paintings from Evanston students.
The City of Evanston Streets and Sanitation Division invites all Evanston schools (both public and private) to participate in the third annual P.E.P. (Paint Evanston’s Plows) contest.
The P.E.P. contest is designed to increase the public’s awareness of the upcoming snow season. The theme for this year is
“Tap Water: Good for You, Good for the Environment.”
Children are encouraged to show school spirit, City spirit and holiday and/or winter spirit in conjunction with the tap water theme. The contest is open to fourth graders and above.

The first 10 schools to respond will be invited to participate.
Each school will receive one snow plow and a paint kit. Plows will be delivered to schools on September 29 and picked up on October 24. All plows will be on display for public voting from October 24 through 29 in front of the Evanston Civic Center, 2100 Ridge Ave.
Plaques will be awarded in at least two categories Best “Theme,” Spirit and Evanstonians’ Choice. If you have any questions, contact the Streets and Sanitation Division, (847) 866-2940.
DID YOU KNOW?
The City annually sends out its snow plow blades to be painted, so the snow will come off the blade easier. P.E.P. helps the City save money, since the City only pays for the paints, and not the artistic labor. The City will add some clear coat on designs so they will last longer to be admired by the community throughout the snow season.
