PURPOSE: The Evanston Health Initiatives Committee (EHIC) is a community group based on a public-private model that has proven to be highly effective in municipalities across the United States. The EHIC, in concert with the Evanston Health Department, identifies urgent community needs, such as services and education, outreach and training and creates partnerships with local business, residents and community members to meet those needs.
EHIC MISSION: The Evanston Health Initiatives Committee is dedicated to the long-term health and well-being of all Evanston residents and community members through advancing the community health programs and initiatives of the Evanston Health Department through strategic community engagement, fundraising, and special initiatives.
MEMBERS: The role of EHIC committee members is to serve as community “capacity-builder” with regard to achieving the committee fundraising goals and engaging a broad spectrum of Evanston residents and community members in the mission of the EHIC. Apply to be a member of the EHIC.
QUALIFICATIONS: Must be an Evanston resident or employed in Evanston.
TERM: On-going
