ELECTRICAL COMMISSION


PURPOSE: To recommend safe and practical standards and specifications for the installation, alteration and use of electrical equipment designed to meet the needs and conditions of the City. (126-0-66; Ill. Rev. Stat. Ch. 24, Sec. 11-37-2).

 

MEMBERS: 6 appointed by Mayor with advice and consent of City Council
COMPOSITION: 1 Chief Electrical Inspector of the City of Evanston (ex-officio Chairman), 1 registered professional engineer, 1 electrical contractor, 1 journeyman electrician, 1 representative of an inspection bureau maintained by the fire underwriters if such representative resides in City. If not, then the Chief of the Fire Department, and 1 representative of an electrical supply company. If there is no person residing in this City who is qualified under any of these descriptions, the Mayor may appoint some other person to fill that position.
TERM: 4 years
MEETING DATE: As needed
PLACE: Civic Center
