FIREFIGHTER'S PENSION BOARD

PURPOSE: To provide and distribute funds for pension of firefighters and widows and minor children of deceased firefighters. (Ill. Rev. Stat. Ch. 108 1/2. Sec. 4-121).

MEMBERS: 7 members - (5 elected by Fire Fighters Association) the Comptroller, City Clerk, Chief Officer of the Fire Department, if there is one, or if not, the Mayor in all the municipalities above designates 3 additional persons chosen from their active firefighters and one other person who has retired under the "Firemen's Pension Fund Act of 1919".
TERM: 3 years for active firemen
MEETING DATE: Quarterly
PLACE: Civic Center
