Overall State and Federal Funding Priorities 2010-2011
1. Secure Federal funding to include one major road infrastructure project in the 2010-2014 Safe, Accountable, Flexible, Efficient Transportation Equity Act-Emerson Street $5.0 Million
2. Attain State or Federal funding for the Evanston Water Utility- Planning money for Water Utility expansion to new communities $300,000
3. Obtain Federal funding for Evanston from Sustainable Communities Initiative
4. Acquire Federal funding for planning associated with a Evanston Federally Qualified Health Center
5. Gain State or Federal funding for Union Pacific railroad viaduct maintenance and CTA Purple line reconstruction
Federal Priorities (Tier I)
1. Include on major road project in the 2010-2014 Safe, Accountable, Flexible, Efficient Transportation Equity Act-Emerson Street $5.0 Million
2. Obtain Federal funding for Sustainable Communities Initiative Community Challenge Grant $2.5 Million
3. Obtain Federal funding for Sustainable Communities Initiative Regional Planning Grant
4. Submit project for funding under Transportation Investment Generating Economic Recovery (TIGER) II Grant
5. Acquire Federal funding for planning associated with an Evanston Federally Qualified Health Center
6. Attain State or Federal funding for the Evanston Water Utility- Planning money for Water Utility expansion to new communities $300,000
7. Explore Evanston becoming a Federal WEED and SEED community
State Priorities (Tier I)
1. Work as an active partner with the Northwest Municipal Conference and Pension Fairness Coalition to reform police and fire pensions
2. Protect Evanston’s share of state tax revenue during 2011 state budget process
3. Explore State earmarks for planning associated with an Evanston Wet Lab
State and Federal Priorities (Tier II)
1. Explore opportunities for Evanston libraries to transform itself into a broader learning center and apply for federal grant funding for programming
2. Get Federal funding from 2010 SAFER Grant Program
3. Obtain State or Federal funding to apply renewable energy resources at the water utility or other municipal buildings
4. Seek Federal or State funding to pay for Evanston seasonal youth employment
5. Gain a State or Federal funding for Safe Routes to School Program
