Comm. and ED Director Walker Departs; Lyons Interim Director
Evanston City Manager Wally Bobkiewicz released the following statement today:
"Community and Economic Development Director Lehman Walker has been appointed the City Manager of University City, Missouri effective August 2, 2010.
Lehman had served as the Community Development Director in University City for twelve years before coming to Evanston last year. Lehman leaves Evanston only after repeated requests by the City Council of University City and many community leaders to consider returning. Lehman in his short time in Evanston has made a positive impact in our community, most notably his work to establish a new economic development agenda for the City and his leadership in the implementation of the NSP2 foreclosure grant program.
I have asked Assistant City Manager Marty Lyons to become Interim Community and Economic Development Director while the City conducts a national recruitment to fill the position.
