Evanston Police to Conduct Roadside Safety Check Sept. 3
The Evanston Police Department has announced that they will be conducting a Roadside Safety Check beginning on Friday
September 3, 2010, from 10:00 p.m. to Saturday September 4, 2010 at 6:00 a.m. The safety check will be conducted in a high volume traffic area within the City of Evanston.
The objectives of the Roadside Safety Checks are designed to reduce traffic crashes and the liability associated with violations of vehicular safety laws.
Our goal is to detect and enforce violations associated with impaired driving, as well as any occupant restraint violations. Additional enforcement activities will focus on compliance with the Illinois driver license statutes, liability insurance compliance, and other vehicle statutes and/ or ordinances.
