Evanston Police Conduct Homicide Investigation
On 12-8-10 at approximately 1:04 a.m. Evanston Police responded to the 2000 Blk. of Church St., Evanston, Illinois, referencing a citizen report of gun shots and a man down on the ground. Once on scene, officers located the victim, who had sustained a single gunshot wound to the head. Evanston Fire Paramedics responded, treated and transported the victim to a local hospital. At 3:39 a.m., the victim succumbed to his injury and was pronounced deceased by attending physicians.
Evanston Police Investigators working with the North Regional Major Crimes Task Force – NORTAF began to conduct all pertinent investigative measures, which resulted in the victim being identified as forty year old, Evanston resident, Keith Bernard Tucker. Preliminary investigative efforts indicate the victim had been in the company of one to two individuals at the intersection of Grey and Church, at approximately 1:04 a.m., when one of these subjects produced a gun, which resulted in the victim Tucker receiving a single fatal gunshot wound to the head.
At present, Evanston Police and NORTAF Investigators continue to process the crime scene and conduct interviews, working to determine the offender’s identity and motivation.
