Commander Jeffrey Jamraz & Sergeant Daniel Russell to Be Promoted Jan. 24
At the January 24, 2011 meeting of the Evanston City Council Evanston Police Department Commander Jeffrey Jamraz will be promoted to the rank of Deputy Police Chief following the retirement of Deputy Police Chief Demitrous Cook in December, 2010. Additionally, Sergeant Daniel Russell will be promoted to the rank of Commander during the same meeting.
Promoted to the rank of Sergeant in 2005, seventeen years after joining the department as a patrol officer, Jeff Jamraz has served as a supervisor of the Office of Professional Standards, Patrol Bureau and Investigative Services.
Jamraz is a 2007 graduate of Northwestern University’s School of Police Staff and Command and a 2010 graduate of the FBI National Academy’s 241st session. His academic background also includes a Bachelor of Arts degree in management from National-Louis University.
Jamraz is married to his wife of 25 years, Karen. They are parents of three children, Katie, Tom, and Michael.
Promoted to the rank of sergeant in 2002, five years after joining the department, Daniel Russell has served as a supervisor of the Neighborhood Enforcement Team, the Office of Professional Standards and the Detective Bureau. From 1994 until September 1997 Russell served as a patrol officer and as a detective with the Grand Rapids, Michigan Police Department.
A Master Firearms Instructor (certified in 2000), Russell is a 2005 graduate of the FBI National Academy’s 220th session. His academic background includes two advanced degrees (a Master of Arts degree in Adult Education and a Master of Arts in University Administration) as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from Michigan State University.
Russell is married to attorney Jennifer Russell. They are the parents of two children, Katie and John.
