1. There has been a lot of discussion recently about drinking water quality in the news. Utilities Department staff will be doing a presentation sharing information on how we regularly test our water, including a video tour of of water testing lab.
2. Update on progress of selecting team to design, build, operate and finance new Recreation and Ice Center at Crown Park. The three final firms will be introduced to the Council and a schedule for next steps will be discussed.
3. Discussion of future issues of City property on south side of 2200 and 2300 blocks of Oakton Street. There is interest in private development immediately to the west of these properties and the City Council will be asked for direction on next steps regarding existing animal shelter and the now-closed recycling center on this property.
4. Third Quarter Budget Report. Overall City is in OK shape. Staff is currently projecting a $1.5 million deficit for the $85 million General Fund. Staff discusses in report to Council reasons for this. I believe we will closed the gap significantly in final month of the year with continued reduced spending and review of appropriate transfers from other funds to cover some specific expenses.
5. Consideration of subdivision of 2408 Orrington, the former site of Kendall College.
