Lobby Day 2010.jpgThe City of Evanston and Northwestern University invite you, your neighbors and/or colleagues to attend the 2nd Annual Evanston Day in Springfield on March 30th, 2011. This will be an opportunity for you as well as elected officials, business, civic, education and religious leaders, local media and Evanston residents to go to Springfield to have our voices heard on issues of importance to Evanston.

The city will again rent a bus to take the delegation to Springfield. The bus will leave Evanston around 7:00 AM from Ryan Field and arrive in Springfield in time for lunch at the Governor’s Mansion. There will be meetings with legislative leaders in the afternoon. The group will head back to Evanston around 5:00 PM with a simple dinner on the bus.

This year we are adding a new aspect to Evanston Day in Springfield. We have reserved the North Hallway in the State Capitol Building to use as a small exhibition space promoting the Evanston community. We are asking businesses, non-profits organizations or other entities that represent Evanston to come and display at Evanston Day in Springfield. There will be a total of 12 display tables available (which can be divided into a table for two groups). The tables might include a table top display, samples, pamphlets or other information about the organization.

Participants are urged to join us on the bus for the trip to Springfield. The cost will be $60 per person, as it was last year, and includes the bus trip, lunch and dinner.

You will find the Evanston Day 2011 Sign Up Sheet here>>> to reserve space for you and your colleagues on the bus and an opportunity for a table top space in the North Hallway of the Capitol. Five groups have already signed up for tables and space is limited.
