Rebuilding Haiti's Libraries, Rebuilding Dreams

haiti library.jpgOn March 20th the Evanston Public Library will be hosting the Rebuilding Haiti's Libraries: Rebuilding Dreams program. Evanston resident and local librarian Deborah Lazar talks about her Haitian fundraising project and her trips to Haiti to help rebuild libraries with the American Library Association’s Haiti Library Relief Fund.

American Library Association’s International Relations Director, Michael Dowling, will also share information of other ongoing projects in the national and global community. The program will include a cultural overview and Haitian refreshments, and music. This is presented in conjunction with Northwestern’s One Book One Northwestern program which focuses this year on Dr. Paul Farmer’s medical relief work in Haiti.
