SASI Free Community Programs for Older Adults & Family Caregivers

sasi-logo.pngThe City of Evanston would like to share with community programs offered by Services for Adults Staying in Their Homes (SASI) for older adults and family caregivers for March and April. Since1975, SASI has been helping adults who, due to aging, illness or injury, need assistance to be safe and comfortable at home. SASI is licensed by the Illinois Department of Public Health to provide home care as both a Home Services Agency and a Home Services Placement Agency.

Caring for Someone with Alzheimer’s - March 22

Thumbnail image for alz.jpgLearn practical ways to make days – and nights – at home easier for both caregivers and people with Alzheimer’s.

Sarah Van Huis, director of SASI home care services, and Dr. Lisa Shives of Northshore Sleep Medicine share insights to help family caregivers and people learning to live with someone with Alzheimer’s.

This program will be held Tuesday, March 22 from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at SASI, 1123 Emerson St. #200.

Registration deadline is March 18.

Helping the Caregiver: Making Transfers Easy - March 30

The EZRockTM Patient Transfer System from Assistive Medical Equipment is suitable for homes and facilities. Patent and HSPCS application pending.

This program will be held Wednesday, March 30 from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at SASI, 1123 Emerson St. #200.

Registration deadline is March 25.

Bring your medicine cabinet — all the items recommended by your doctors and anything else you ever take. Sponsored by SASI, Levy Center and Walgreens. The Levy Senior Center is located at 300 Dodge Ave.
