CMAP is the official regional planning organization for the northeastern Illinois counties of Cook, DuPage, Kane, Kendall, Lake, McHenry, and Will.

CMAP will begin working with 64 local governments, nonprofits, and intergovernmental organizations to address local issues at the intersection of transportation, land use, and housing, including the natural environment, economic growth, and community development.

The grant will assist the city in development of an implementable water conservation program to be used by the city’s Utilities Department and residents to promote good stewardship of water resources. CMAP staff will provide technical assistance and staffing for the development of the water conversation program working with City staff and community stakeholders.

"Kudos to General Planner Craig Sklenar, Assistant Utilities Superintendent Lara Biggs and Sustainable Programs Coordinator Catherine Hurley for their outstanding work in putting together this successful grant proposal," said City Manager Wally Bobkiewicz.
