About the Evanston Kick Butts Day Campaign

The City of Evanston has partnered with the 2011 Kick Butts Day campaign, Evanston based Peer Services Inc., Evanston Township High School and Northwestern University to promote Kick Butts Day - a national day of activism that empowers youth to speak up and take action against tobacco use.

Activities

  • During the week of Kick Butts Day (March 23rd), pledge boards will be placed throughout the community; at the Evanston Main Library, North Shore University Heath System, YMCA. Residents are encouraged to MAKE A PLEDGE to quit smoking, remain smoke free, or talk to a loved one about their tobacco use.
  • The Health Department, Northwestern University, and Evanston Community Television will be filming PSA's written and performed by community members speaking out against the use of tobacco.
  • If you're interested in quitting and looking for resources, sites with the pledge boards will be supplied with Quit Kits containing journals, stress relievers, nicotine gum, and information about the Quitline 1-866-QUIT-YES.
