City's Water Lab Receives Highest Marks from State
The City of Evanston's Water Quality Laboratory is audited every two years by the Illinois Department of Public Health. The audit consists of an onsite evaluation in which procedures, records and equipment are inspected. Over 200 different criteria must be met in order to be in perfect compliance with Zero Deviations.
" We are proud to report that once again the Laboratory achieved a Zero Deviation evaluation," explained Utility Department Director Dave Stoneback. "The lab has achieved Zero Deviation status for 3 audits in a row, 6 years total."
To quote the IDPH auditor, “Once again Eleanore Meade and Alfredo Diaz-Mazarredo are to be commended on their dedication to excellence as was made evident by their Q.C. procedures, record maintenance and technical skills. The effort to generate quality data from this lab is apparent. Congratulations on receiving zero deviations for three consecutive evaluations”
The City of Evanston is one of a select few Water Quality Lab’s in Illinois that has received this high of a ranking for three audits in a row.
