Newsy Items on Monday City Council Agenda
The City Council is transitioning to a new schedule that will include a regular meeting on the third Monday of each month. Items for this meeting at 7 PM will be reserved for presentations and discussions of larger community-wide issues. Items on Monday's agenda (all links PDF):
1. Discussion on issues related to construction of new salt dome. This is an issue that was discussed at some length by the City Council most recently in late 2008 and early 2009 without resolution. Other issues have pushed this one aside the last couple of years, but the existing building continues to deteriorate and the City needs now to refocus on plans to move forward with a new facility.
2. Update from the Evanston Police Department on their efforts in implementing the City Council's goal on community safety.
