Woofstock, Canine Event of the Year, on June 5

woofstock art 2011 web.jpgWoofstock, the annual open house at Pooch Park, will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 5. Pooch Park is located at 3220 Oakton St. in Evanston. Dogs and their favorite humans can enjoy food, dog demonstrations, games and contests for dogs and humans, as well as visit vendors specializing in making dogs healthy and happy. Admission is free to Woofstock, but all dogs must be on leash during this event.

Pooch Park is a 2.7 acre park that is an off-leash fenced dog recreational facility which requires an annual permit per dog. Pooch Park is jointly operated by the City of Evanston and Skokie Park District.

Parking is available in the lot for the Dammrich Rowing Center, which is just south of Pooch Park. The lot entrance is on Oakton St. From the parking lot, walk north past the Rowing Center to the Pooch Park entrance.
