City to Begin Trimming Brush in Alley Right-of-ways June 20
This summer the City of Evanston’s Public Works Department will be using youth hired as a part of the Summer Youth Employment Program to trim brush from alley right-of-ways. Workers will begin on June 20th starting with alleys on the Tuesday Refuse Collection Routes.
Workers will only dispose of brush that they have trimmed and they will be under the supervision of a Streets and Sanitation Division supervisor. Flyers will be distributed 48 hours in advance to notify residents of the alley right-of-ways to be trimmed to allow residents time to trim shrubs on their own should they choose to do so.
Trimming of alley ways will be done according to the following schedule:
| Refuse Route Day | Begin Date | End Date |
| Tuesday | June 20 | June 24 |
| Monday | June 27 | July 8 |
| Wednesday | July 11 | July 22 |
| Thursday | July 25 | August 8 |
Additionally, residents can submit requests for alley brush trimming by calling 3-1-1 or submitting a request on line here>>>
