"Five Guys Named Moe" Now Playing
Fleetwood-Jourdain Theatre kicks off its 2011 season this weekend with the Tony-nominated musical, Five Guys Named Moe. The show will be presented at 7:00 p.m. on Saturdays and at 3:00 p.m. on Sundays, June 11 through June 26 at the Theatre at Noyes Cultural Arts Center, 927 Noyes St., Evanston. Tickets are $10 and may be purchased in advance or at the door.
Five Guys Named Moe features the whimsical hit songs of Louis Jordan, one of the most beloved songwriting talents of the Twentieth Century. Jordan, a great composer and saxophonist, had more than 50 top-ten singles on the rhythm and blues charts. He brought a popular new slant to jazz that paved the way for the rock ’n’ roll of the ’50s. This show inspires the audience to laugh and shout; they may even dance in the aisles!
Cast members are Alexander Brown (Little Moe); Andrew White Jr. (Big Moe); George Hull (Eat Moe); Rodney Greene (Four-Eyed Moe); James Perrin (No Moe) and Gerald Wilson (No Max). Musical direction is by Tim Lenihan and choreography is by Sean Blake. Tim Rhoze, Fleetwood-Jourdain Theatre’s Artistic Director, will direct the musical and serves as set designer and costume designer. Allie Miller is the stage manager and Danny Kolakowski is the graphic designer.
