Call for Artists: Third Annual Green Arts Show
Residents are invited to submit their work to the Third Annual Green Arts Show featuring nationally known artist Nancy Judd of Recycle Runway. The Green Arts Show is a lively exhibit of works that reflect or promote more sustainable ways of living. The Green Arts Show is sponsored by Citizens' Greener Evanston, the Evanston Art Center and Whole Foods, in partnership with the City of Evanston.

This year our featured artist is Nancy Judd of recyclerunway.com. Nancy's iconic fashion creations are meticulously crafted of reclaimed materials and have gained national attention by raising awareness of environmental issues in a light-hearted way. Recycle Runway projects are funded by Delta Airlines and Target. In addition, Nancy will be teaching a workshop before the artist reception on September 18.
CGE invites you to join in the excitement of this unique event by submitting your work for jury selection. Works will be judged on artistic merit and use of concepts or materials that promote awareness of green and sustainable ways of living.
Application Deadline: August 31, 2011
Selection notification:
Artists will be notified on September 5, 2011 whether or not their work has been accepted for exhibition.
Thematic criteria:
Applications should include a statement of how the artist is using concepts, images or materials to encourage green, sustainable ways of living.
Submission eligibility:
All forms of visual and performing arts are welcome. Must be appropriate for public viewing. Must be of sound construction. Transportation of the artwork to and from the event is the responsibility of the artist.
Submission materials:
Completed application form including artist’s statement and $25 non-refundable application fee. Digital images of one to six works, more than one piece may be accepted for exhibit.
Awards:
Jury of exhibited works will include Nora Dietrich, Director of the Evanston Art Center and Harvey Pranian of Harvey Antiques.
Modest cash prizes will be awarded
