CommUNITY Picnic Celebrates Final Days of Summer on August 28
What's more fun than gathering with your friends, family and fellow Evanstonians to enjoy an afternoon in the park with free food, games, activities and entertainment?
Mark your calendars for Sunday, August 28, 2011, to attend the annual CommUNITY Picnic. This event will run from noon to 5 p.m. in Ingraham Park behind the Lorraine H. Morton Civic Center, 2100 Ridge Ave., Evanston.
Admission is free. The fun includes a NEW 3-on-3 basketball tournament, a performance by the Jesse White Tumblers, two entertainment stages, balloon art, face painting, a dunk tank, bingo and board games. CFL lightbulbs will be distributed free of charge. Children enrolled in School Districts #65 and 202 will receive a backpack and school supplies, as supplies last.*
