Job Seeker Workshops at EPL Aug 24 & Sept 21

workNet.jpgThe workNet center at the Evanston Public Library will be hosting two upcoming all-day power workshops for job seekers. The workshops will focus on job search techniques, resume/cover letter writing and interviewing techniques.

The workshops will run from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. on August 24th and September 21st on the third floor of the Main Evanston Public Library located at 1703 Orrington Ave. Participants are asked to arrive 15 minutes early and bring their own lunch. Job Search Techniques: Focuses on effective techniques to find jobs in today’s job market; includes Internet job search tips and networking strategies.

Résumé / Cover Letter: Expert guidance on writing résumés and cover letters that gets results.

Interviewing: Get the guidance and direction needed for interview preparation. Review the common questions and learn effective ways to answer them. Mock interviews will be conducted to practice those new-found skills and reinforce the rest.

As part of the partnership between the Evanston Public Library and Workforce Board of Northern Cook County, a workNet center was recently opened up on the third floor of the Main Evanston Public Library offering job search and career services to community members.
