The offenders then fled the area as Mr. Costulas lay on the ground, unconscious and bleeding.

Evanston Police responded and began an investigation, requested Evanston Fire Paramedics who responded, treated and transported Mr. Costulas to a local hospital.

Due to his extensive injuries as a result of the attack, Mr. Costulas has remained hospitalized since the date of the incident. On September 10th, Mr. Costulas succumbed to his injuries, dying at 3:38am.
