"Contagion: From Hollywood to Public Health Policy" Lecture & Panel Discussion

The City of Evanston, in conjunction with Northwestern University and Chicago Physicians for Social Responsibility  (PSR), will be co-sponsoring a lecture and panel discussion highlighting the importance of public health departments keeping all residents healthy.

On October 23, award-winning science writer and Northwestern alumna Maryn McKenna, author of "Superbug: The Fatal Menace of MRSA," will lead a discussion entitled "Contagion: From Fiction to Public Health Policy." She will be joined by panelists from the Evanston Health Department and from local hospitals to discuss planning for and prevention of life-threatening infectious disease epidemics.

The public is invited to join the Evanston Health Department and Northwestern University in a timely discussion of real life public health practices and emergency response.

This lecture will take place from 4:30 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, October 23 at the Harris Building, room LO7, on Northwestern's Evanston Campus. Doors open at 4 p.m. This event is free and open to the public.
