Citizens’ Greener Evanston Community Education Committee is hosting all community members and interested people to attend its October Green Drinks Event on October 11th from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Firehouse Grill, 750 Chicago Avenue, Evanston - 2nd Floor.

This free event features practical ways to save energy and money at home through weatherization initiatives in existing housing and energy efficiency measures in new construction and remodeling. There will also be a focus on weatherization solutions in affordable housing.

Three panelists will present on the subject and answer audience's questions: John Hamilton, Director of Weatherization at CEDA (Community and Economic Development Association of Cook County); Nathan Kipnis, Principal at Nathan Kipnis Architects and Board of Directors Member at Citizens' Greener Evanston; Tom Wieser, Vice-President and Regional Manager at GreenSpark Energy Solutions.

This event is one of a series of monthly Evanston Green Drinks events, taking place each second Tuesday of the month, organized by Citizens' Greener Evanston (CGE) as informal occasions for networking and education on sustainability topics.

Evanston Green Drinks is part of an international movement which started in London in 1989 and is now active in 78 countries. It was brought to Evanston by CGE in May 2011 and has since gathered some attention among the community featuring various topics like local food, transportation, and daily green habits from around the world.
