New Superintendent of Streets and Sanitation Starts Job
The City of Evanston welcomes James Maiworm as the new Superintendent of Streets and Sanitation. Maiworm has over twenty years of public works and parks maintenance management experience. He was most recently the Director of Public Works for the Village of Hawthorn Woods, Illinois for four years, where he supervised a total of seven full-time employees and a budget of over $700,000.
Prior to that, he was the Superintendent of Street Services for the Village of Oak Park and the Public Works Superintendent for the Village of Palatine. He has been involved in capital construction, street maintenance, union contract negotiation, forestry and park maintenance and snow removal operations.
Maiworm has three associate degrees from William Rainey Harper College: an Associates of Applied Science in Park Management, an Associates of Applied Science in Horticulture and an Associate of Arts in General Studies.
He is a past president of the American Public Works Association Suburban Branch. Maiworm is married and has five children and has relocated to Rogers Park to be closer to Evanston.
