Health Dept. Seeks Members for Health Ministry Coalition
The Evanston Health Department held its first Health Ministry Coalition meeting on November 15, 2011. The coalition is so far comprised of seven churches from Evanston of various sizes and faiths that all share a common goal—to improve the health of their congregations.
A needs assessment will be taken of the coalition as a whole and any prevalent health issues of each individual congregation will be indentified. Coalition participants will then receive assistance in locating resources to meet the congregation’s needs.
The Evanston Health Department is currently looking for additional members to join the coalition. The Health Department will help congregations establish a health ministry or help with resource development for those who already have health ministries established.
